Role of Technology

The role of technology in the Universal Design for Learning is one that is meant to enhance the new literacies for creating expert learners that have the skill sets for the 21 century.  Although creating UDL environments in the classroom does not require the use of technology to be effective, it does enhance learning and provide several tools for the applications of providing multiple means of representation, action and expression, and engagement.  Some students however, do require the use of assistive technologies to simply be in the classroom or access the tools needed for learning.
